About Teri Knight

The garden is no place to stress for success, but to soak up some sun and renew your Spirit.

Teri believes the garden is a place to learn, to play, to contemplate, to renew your Spirit and to dance when you see what you’ve planted actually grow! (Her neighbors are used to it now.)

The whole concept of “Garden Bite” has come from my desire to share gardening basics with the person who wants to get their hands dirty but might be a little apprehensive about digging in. There are NO Martha Stewarts here! It’s not about perfection, it’s about enjoying the road to it! I want the viewer/listener to go out in the garden with a little more confidence and a lot less fear of killing their plants, after all, some die!

Gardening remains one of liveliest (pun intended) hobbies in America. With the trend toward organic living, backyard or “small space” gardening, becomes more and more popular each year. A shift toward caring for our Earth has revived interest in our own backyards. Gardening offers a great way to head toward healthier living by not only growing your own vegetables and herbs but working in your garden is a great way to exercise without paying for a gym membership! And the bonus of flowers and shrubs the neighbors would love to have!!

This show is for the “backyard to balcony” gardener; the person who gets off work and unwinds pulling a weed or two; someone who gets a kick out of growing some veggies and herbs or just enjoys the smell of fresh flowers.

In the last year alone fear over contaminated produce has sparked a huge increase in vegetable gardening. Teri will take listeners/viewers through the basics removing any apprehension about growing their own bounty!

Thrown in like salt for a little flavor, Teri adds in little factoids. For instance, did you know that landscaping can add 15 percent to the value of your home? That bunnies will pee blue if they eat too much buckthorn? Dandelions were once thought of as beautiful flowers?

Did I mention fun recipes? Sunchoke Pancakes? Sweet and Sassy Pumpkins Seeds? How about dandelion coffee? Burdock root soup? Turn those weeds into tasty treats!

Supplementing the show is Teri’s website (www.gardenbite.com) with daily updates to compliment the radio program.
