It’s fun Friday and I’m going to share some fab NEW Spring bloomers for 2022 from Proven Winners. A sweet alyssum named for me? Probably not but it’s called ‘Moonlight Knight’, with a K!
This annual has masses of fragrant soft yellow blooms from planting to frost. It’s 8 to 10 inches tall but trails to 2 ft! Lovely in landscapes and containers. It’s heat tolerant too.
You’ve heard the term, Baffle ‘em with… oh nevermind. Dazzle ‘em with this brilliant ‘Bright Lights Red’ African Daisy.
Just 12 inches tall and wide, this stunner starts flowering ASAP and those blooms continue till frost too!
A hardy perennial to zone 3, this Jacob’s Ladder is so pretty. Place ‘Heaven Scent’ in part sun to part shade.
It’s green, fern-like leaves have purple highlights and the blue flowers are in loose clusters in spring. They’re also fragrant! This plant grows to about 18 inches tall and wide.
And a gorgeous flower that digs shade is ‘Miss Piggy’ pigsqueak – a beautiful heartleaf bergenia with thick, dark green glossy leaves with bright pink flowers that Miss Piggy really would love. Hardy to zone 4, she blooms from early to mid Spring while the foliage continues to shine till frost.
This bergenia grows to about 32 inches tall and wide, attracts bees and butterflies AND is deer and rabbit resistant too.
