There’s nothing more fun that to wander local garden centers and see the new plants! Planning our container plantings, or choosing those annuals to fill in space in our garden beds! This year there are some pretty amazing options added.
One day brighter is a bush daisy called ‘High Noon’.
Bright, cheery yellow daisies bloom all season. It grows about 14 inches tall with an 18 inch spread, adorable and no deadheading. Part sun to sun, you’ll have flowers to frost.
Coleus are one of my absolute favorite annuals. There’s a new one from Proven Winners called Royale ‘Pineapple Brandy’.
For sun and shade it has yellow to chartreuse luminescent foliage with burgundy bronze accents.
It’s very well-branched and works well in landscapes and containers. This guy isn’t little, it grows to 30 inches tall and 16 inches wide.
‘Machu Morado’ is a Mexican petunia. Which I had never heard of.
This upright plant grows to 32 inches tall and 18 inches wide. It would be the “thriller” in your container planting.
It loves heat and the periwinkle purple flowers are ruffled. It is a late summer bloomer for those of us in the upper midwest.
From hot to cool, Ball Seed introduces Main Stage ‘Glacier Sky’ petunia.
OH MY! The huge blooms have a deep blue, purplish hue and a white picotee edge, speckled with white stars. The plant grows about 16 inches tall but trails to 3 feet!
