Eighteen million new gardeners all want pollinators too! I’m sharing some pretty plants for them and you…

My baptisia last year with bumblebees

This annual is hot pink prolific bloomer. Gomphrena ‘Truffula Pink’ grows to 2 ft tall and wide, has no problem thriving in a drought and delivers blooms from planting to hard frost!

Give it full sun and watch the pollinators stop by. Oh, and you don’t need to deadhead it either.

The Suncredible Yellow sunflower will light up the garden till Fall. This everblooming sunflower is built on a well branched bush-like habit that is perfect for the back of the bed, as an annual screen or along a fence where it will grow to about 3 ft tall and wide.

The blooms are about 4” across and do not need to be deadheaded to continue blooming,  but can be groomed for tidiness, and also makes a great cut flower. Heat and drought tolerant, the bees and butterflies love it.

And a new introduction for 2022, a tuberous verbena named Cake Pops Pink. Another long blooming annual for full sun, this verbena is a delightful mellow pink that attracts bees, butterflies and hummingbirds too!

Verbena ‘Cake Pops Pink’

Cake Pops Pink grows 18 inches tall and wide. It would also look beautiful in a container as well as a border planting! This plant is also heat tolerant, however, if it does start to look a bit tired, you can trim it back by a third and give it a weak dose of fertilizer.
