Garden Bite closes a chapter

Click below to listen to my  2 min. Garden Bite radio show/podcast: Garden Bite closes a chapter

In March of 2007 I started this 2 minute radio program after being approached by a local media distribution company. My background in radio and television along with becoming a Master Gardener in 2003 cemented my desire to create this show.

I have loved producing a space for home gardeners who yearn to learn without feeling judged. Providing a fun, inclusive atmosphere and sharing my “nibbles of knowledge on all things in the garden”

This photo shows shrubs in the way background, a cottonwood tree, a raised bed with veggies and flowers and the septic mound, unfortunately, covered in weeds – oh but what insects and critters it held! Lakeville

2022

It has been a real privilege. 5 days a week, 52 weeks a year. I have given a tremendous amount of thought to closing this particular chapter of my life. I still love Garden Bite but it’s time to move forward or sideways or perhaps do a little shuffle/jig!

All the content on my Garden Bite radio show has been researched, written, voiced and produced by me, Teri Knight. Every piece of content on this website has been written and produced by me.

I have learned SO much through the research I’ve done to create fresh content, through YOU, my listeners and through the opportunities to interview so many authors of gardening books.

Through a college and a high school student internship I provided, I hosted and produced several garden videos in 2018 and 2019. Brynn and Gracie were wonderful to work with and filmed and edited each episode. I hope to do more (just have to remember my login!) Check out my Garden Bite youtube channel:

I was also able to host and co-produce a Minnesota specific gardening show on television, DigIn Minnesota, in 2013. What a trip! I loved it.

Our first day of filming 3-20-13! Anne, me and Tristan – It was SO cold!

Now I find myself desiring more time to simply enjoy my own landscape, bask in the sun a little more and be happy in the moment.

This spot is excellent for bird watching. the french lilac gives birds a place to sit, honeysuckle vine has been planted to attract more hummingbirds. My neighbor’s Oak tree is great cover, there’s my crabapple to the left not pictured. The grasses and flowers are all attractors!

I will continue to maintain my website, gardenbite.com and also my Garden Bite Facebook and Instagram pages. I will post photos and add tidbits of information and would love to continue to interact with you all!

Remember, “the garden is no place to stress for success but to soak up some sun and renew your spirit”, by Teri Knight.

I have 2 books I’ve been working on for years. Garden Bite Day by Day is the working title of the first one and my intent is to have it finished and published next year!

Sometimes you just gotta lean into it…
