Black Friday may be over but we’re seeing plenty of holiday shopping ads! As the gardener or one of them in your family, there’s nothing wrong with leaving hints about what you want!
Tools are a gardener’s biggest friend. Good garden gloves and shovels are great.
But a good Garden Fork… well that’s the best.
The garden fork allows you to dig up plants, shrubs and trees with minimal damage to the roots. It’s easier to use and definitely kinder on your back!
Two of my favorite small tools come from Dramm. The Compact Shear is perfect for cutting flowers for a bouquet or trimming back plants.
I also like the Compact Pruner Perfect for trimming woody stems and perennials 1/4-inch and under.
I use it on my coreopsis, monarda, daylilies and more.
An item that would really be great for small space/patio gardening is the Keter Easy Grow 31 Gallon Raised Garden Bed with Self Watering Planter Box.
The dimensions are 50 inches wide, 19 inches deep and about 30 inches tall. This raised bed is nice enough looking to be used indoors too and with a self-watering, it’s not messy!
Another item I really like is my small portable greenhouse.
I don’t have the place in my home to start plants but I do have a good size porch where I can get things started a little earlier for our Upper Midwest garden! Prices range all over the place, but be sure to look for quality!
Another gift possibility… a subscription to Northern Gardener magazine. It’s my favorite magazine!
