Yesterday we packed our bellies, today we’re packing shopping bags!

For gardeners here is a list of my favorites, including my new favorite tool, the Hori Hori knife! Seriously, I can’t believe I went this long without one! I’m also a huge fan of garden forks. I use mine consistently. It’s so much easier on the plants and their roots and also on ME.

Essentials when weeding – another NEW favorite is that green flexible garden tote!

As for gloves, I have probably about 10 pair all over the place while I’m out in the garden. My favorite though are the ones I remember to use when pruning anything with thorns! Otherwise, I really don’t mind getting my hands dirty. I’ve never had great nails anyway.

Hori hori needs a little cleaning and my favorite pruner is in this photo too!

Pruners are a big deal too.  The classic Felco # 2 are great, for someone like me, with small hands, the Felco #6 is lighter weight and the handles are designed to make squeezing easier!

A tool I use a LOT, is a collapsible garden bag. I just bought a new one this year, the Bosmere Large hard bottom pop-up bag. I love it. The hard bottom is worth the extra dollars as I drag mine across the landscape, sidewalk, driveway… and so on!

For those with small spaces consider giving them containers. And based on the fact that I’ve already got cracked winter skin on 3 fingers, I think we could ALL use some help with some soothing salves. I use Liquid bandage too. Hurts like a son of a gun when you first put it on but it DOES coat and protect!

cracked thumb after applying liquid bandage, it hurts like crazy but then immediately felt better, just looks kinda icky

Take a moment on my Garden Bite facebook page to tell me what YOUR favorite garden tools are. It’s a great place to share what you like! Happy Shopping!  We’ll talk about Christmas tree selections next week and what the differences are.
